Jubilee Music and Arts Festival 2013/The Well Connected Fashion Festival
This past weekend we were able to attend the Jubilee Music and Arts Festival in downtown Los Angeles, which luckily shared the venue with The Well Connected Fashion Fest/Sample Sale. It was a brilliant fusion of fashion and music with a rambunctious and eccentric crowd. Brands such as Shown To Scale, BLQMKT, American Apparel, UNIF, Rojas and many more showcased their line selling items for waaaay under their normal selling price. To say it plainly, it was awesome. We only made it to Day One but saw Soko, Bleached, Trash Talk, The Black Lips and Free Energy play great sets. Enjoy the pics and let us know if you also went! (Pardon the bad quality in some of these dark iPhone pics).
From the clothing deals, food trucks, music and cool downtown LA/Silverlake vibe this is def not a music festival to miss again. Cya next year!

Popsicle Party
There is nothing quite like a cool, refreshing treat on a hot summer day. But instead of running off to your nearest Coldstone Creamery or froyo place for a calorie fest, why not have some fun and make those treats yourself? We found this super sweet list of popsicles you can make yourself this summer! Here are some of the especially delicious looking ones.
You will feel healthier since you know exactly what's going inside your treat, cooler for making it yourself, and possibly drunker if you opt for the recipes that include a dash of alcohol. Click here for more popsicles and recipes.

I know what I'm having for dinner tonight!

The CFDA Fashion Awards
Last night was a special one for fashion lovers far and wide. All of the A-listers of the fashion world gathered together at Lincoln Center in NYC to celebrate the contributions made in American fashion. This special night is called the CFDA Fashion Awards and it's not just your run of the mill red carpet dazzling gown event. The stars spotting the carpet last night were dressed slightly more eclectic and slightly more our style. Here are some of our fave looks from the night:
Jessica Stam wearing Rebecca Minkoff (Can we get that necklace please?!)
Mary-Kate and Elizabeth Olsen in Issey Miyake and The Row.
Nicole Richie in Marc Jacobs looking like a summery mermaid of dreams.
And of course last but not least, one of our top style icons Erin Wasson looking especially cool and elegant in her Alexander Wang cyborg-esque gown.

GEMINI
May 21–June 20
Clever Mercury and captivating Venus each form a harmonious triangle (called a grand trine) this week with dreamer Neptune and planner Saturn in your work sectors, making it easier to put things together in your head. Consider how you can best maximize your talents and execute a detailed plan to fulfill your most meaningful ambitions. Think about combining creativity and realism in your career to improve your finances and strengthen your self-worth. Look at your current resources and your list of top wants and see if you can better align those with work methods that will enable you to reach an elusive goal. Be mindful of your words and actions, though, as both Mercury and Mars are sparring with other planets. Make sure not to divulge someone else’s business or get too aggressive at work. The new moon in Gemini gives you a full head of steam, but thinking and getting in touch with your truest desires are more effective than doing something you might have to fix later. Ponder where you want to go from here and let friends or group activities boost your enthusiasm.
For everyone it is a good month to get in touch with your deepest feelings, get ambitious and start making your dreams a reality. Maybe clean your home for a fresh open space that welcomes new ideas or start that project today that you have been putting off forever. What better day to begin than a Monday?

Adventures in India
The origin of Stela 9 lies in a little thing called 'wanderlust'. The concept for Stela 9's handbags arose through our owner and designer Jess' travels through Latin America and she has now moved on to the bustling streets of India where she seeks out gorgeous new textiles and material for our India bags and connects with the wonderful people who handmake them. Just as wanderlust was the key to her inspiration in the beginning, it continues to inspire as Jess adventures through the warm India sun.
Photographs taken by Jess in Jaipur, Jodhpur: the Blue City, Juna Mahal, and Delhi.
