STELA 9 SS 2012 Lookbook

A few weeks ago our team flew down to Guatemala for about a week to shoot our Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook and to meet with our Guatemalan artisans.  While there, we traveled through church ruins, ran across cobblestone streets, jumped into rainbow color chicken buses and climbed up fantastical tree houses.

When piecing together this collection we looked at old archaeological journals and sketches for inspirtation.  Because all of our textiles are handloomed and the leather is handworked we wanted this lookbook to have that same organic feel.

Thank you to our good friend, Joshua Ballinger for shooting the images and creating a beautiful video for us (coming soon) and to our model, Kelly Jacobik, for beautifully representing our aesthetic.  Also, thank you to Earth Lodge for providing us with tree houses, green fields, delicious meals and many laughs.

I hope you enjoy our journey.

Dinosaur Encounters

A few days ago I journeyed over to the Natural History Museum to see the Dinosaur exhibit.

This reminds me of my childhood.

This is actually a whale and not a dino, but it's still fits in with the dead giants theme.

Imagine going to the beach and seeing this guy off the shore.
Personally, I'd be fine with not going in the water.

Damn girl, look at those thigh... bones.

Just some horses and a Stela9 bag.

Also not a dinosaur, but it really made me want this ring.

And of course to end the day there was some delicious food.

Sound of Silver

I'm all sorts of obsessed with this silver dress from the Free People Spun Collection.  I always jokingly say that I want to get married in this dress. Although now I think I've gotten to a point where it's not longer a joke.  Each item in the Spun Collection is handwoven out of Italian Wool and Silk and insanely beautiful.   Our store is one of the only stores in California to carry the collection.
